i just learned that the amazingly talented jessica of pen n paper flowers
is sending out little gifts to all those whom, inspired by her journey,
decided to travel on their own year long journey of self-discovery.
to help us do this, we created a Promise Me list.
i'm one of those peeps who signed on and i am so glad i did.
i've enjoyed it so far - checking this off my list and looking ahead to what's next.
the gift that's coming is a visual reminder to keep us all focused and positive.
i absolutely love getting surprises in the mail (i am like a little kid this way).
scoutie and i literally race each other to the common are mailbox every day
for fun - now i have a reason to REALLY run fast *wink*
one of the items on my Promise Me list is to learn a new piano piece.
there are hundreds i would love to learn to play.
as i was driving home from work the other night,
i was listening to paul garfunkle's cd songs from a parents to a child and
when lasso the moon played, i knew then and there,
THIS was my song.
it's beautiful and one i sometimes sing to the boys before bed.
i hadn't heard it for a while and had forgotten just how much i love it -
the melody, the piano and the lyrics.
if you have a few minutes, listen and enjoy.
i'm heading to google now to see if i can find the sheet music.
fingers crossed it's available!
(when i master the song, i will record it and post)
the lyrics:
If I were a carpenter
I'd build a world of love
Where we would always be together
If I were the captain of
a ship of happiness
I'd sail away with you forever
Close your eyes
And know you are safe with me
If I had a lariat
Made of dreams come true
I would lasso the moon for you
If I were a rocketeer
I'd scale the universe
To bring your heart a star
each morning
If I were an angel in
Heaven's Holy host
I'd sing to you a verse of glory
Close your eyes
And know you are safe with me
If I had a lariat
Made of dreams come true
I would lasso the moon for you
